The event aimed to empower educators with the right knowledge to understand, identify, and manage pain effectively—both in themselves and in their everyday environment.

The session was led by Dr. Shovan Kumar Rath, who delivered an engaging, informative, and interactive talk. He shared:

The discussion highlighted how chronic pain often goes unnoticed and is frequently ignored due to lifestyle, work pressure, or lack of awareness.

Focus on Workplace Ergonomics

A special segment of the session focused on workplace ergonomics—a crucial yet often overlooked component of pain prevention.
Teachers were guided on:

  • Correct sitting posture
  • Proper desk and chair alignment
  • Frequent movement and stretching
  • Avoiding repetitive-strain activities
  • Creating a spine-friendly work environment

These simple yet effective habits can significantly reduce the risk of neck pain, back pain, shoulder stiffness, and other musculoskeletal issues commonly faced by teaching professionals.

Continuing the Mission of Pain Awareness

The warm response, thoughtful questions, and active participation from the faculty made the program truly impactful.

With initiatives like these, Pain Free Odisha continues its mission to spread pain awareness, promote better health practices, and contribute to a pain-free, healthier community across Odisha.

Together, we take one more step toward empowering people with the knowledge they need to lead healthier, pain-free lives.
